About Chun

Mr. He earned his J.D. from the University of Ottawa in 2021. Prior to studying law, he completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Education concurrently at Queen’s University.

While in law school, Chun conducted research to assist the advocacy work of several organizations including the Refugee Hub, Ecojustice, SeedChange, and Just Food.

Chun’s projects include a report to Canadian agricultural producers on the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement’s impact on international seed laws and a forthcoming paper analysing the Federal Court’s application of Ezokola in refugee inadmissibility assessments. In September 2020, Chun received a scholarship from the University of Ottawa to support the pandemic-related advocacy work of local food security NGOs. Chun prepared a report on the legislative consequences of COVID-19 policy on Urban Agriculture that helped inform the strategic decisions made by these NGOs.

Outside of work, Chun enjoys spending time with his friends and family, helping out in his community, and black iced coffee. Taking after Melissa, Chun is an aspiring commuter cyclist.
