About Andrew

Following the completion of his articling term with Gerami Law PC, Andrew Mortenson was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019. He is thrilled to continue being part of the Gerami Law PC team as a Barrister-at-Law.

Andrew graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Common Law Program with a Juris Doctor in April 2018. While attending law school, Andrew completed internships with the Ontario Crown Attorney’s Office and Amnesty International. He was also a Research Fellow with the uOttawa Refugee Hub, where he worked on a research team led by former Attorney General, Hon. Allan Rock. Andrew’s research with the Refugee Hub primarily focused on removing legal barriers to refugee settlement in Canada and around the world.

Before relocating to Ottawa to study Law, Andrew was raised in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. He previously studied at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics.

Outside of the office, Andrew enjoys taking advantage of the outdoors during all four seasons. He can often be found biking or skating down the Rideau Canal, or walking through one of Ottawa’s trails or parks. A passionate hockey fan, Andrew also enjoys taking advantage of Ottawa’s many indoor and outdoor rinks to watch and play hockey.
